Bishop Thomas Weeks III Evicted From Church Building November 20, 2008
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Weeks was evicted out of his Global Destiny International Ministries cathedral in Duluth Georgia Friday. On Sunday, his congregation held services at the Holiday Inn in Norcross.
Weeks currently owes over $400,000 to the landlord of the campus where Global Destiny once sat. Weeks said the money he owes includes attorney’s fee, late fees, and interest. He stopped paying rent in July.
Weeks renamed his church Global Destiny Worldwide Vision, and said that he was “re-sizing” the church to “to fit economic times.” “When something like this happens, it’s really an exodus into a new prophecy,” he said. “People do not understand the cost of running a worldwide ministry.”

CHICAGO — Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. flatly denies that he and his brother were involved in a scheme to get him a Senate seat in a deal with scandal-tainted Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich (bluh-GOY’-uh-vich).
The remarks in an interview with The Associated Press Friday came on the heels of a Chicago Tribune report that cited unidentified sources. The newspaper said businessmen with ties to the governor and congressmen discussed raising $1 million for Blagojevich to get him to appoint Jackson to the Senate. The report depicts Jackson’s brother as an active participant.

Citing “a source familiar with the investigation,” Fox says that Emanuel had “multiple conversations” with Blagojevich and his chief of staff John Harris, who was also arrested Tuesday on federal corruption charges, about the seat and that they we’re “likely recorded and in FBI possession.”
Fox’s source said that Emanuel gave the governor’s office a list of “candidates that would be acceptable to President-elect Barack Obama” but no “quid pro quo” or “dealmaking” is suspected.
